This is what stairs were made for...

I can't believe it has been so long since I last posted. It has been a long, hot, long summer. Record setting temps have kept the Corgis away from Doggy Daycare for quite some time. Luckily, we have lots to do inside to keep them busy. Diamond's training has been stepped up a bit. She is finally calming down and just loves to please! Her favorite "reward" these days is a squeaky Kong zebra. She gets to play with it for a few minutes when she responds to commands.

Blaze is working on "right" and "left", and he almost has it down pat!

Nearly a year together!

This week marks 1 year of Blaze and Diamond together! It truly seems like it has been forever, and in the very best of ways. These two little Corgis have brought so much life and fun into our lives that I cannot remember what it was like without them.

In many ways they are so very different. During the day, Blaze typically camps out in our bedroom...usually beneath the window so he can keep an eye on the world. If I am home, Diamond is asleep under my desk chair.

Today, they are sharing one of their two huge beds. It isn't like they have to do this; both beds are exactly the same size!

A day at Doggie Zen Den Waterpark!

Is it possible that the last time I actually posted there was snow on the ground and a serious chill in the air? Now, it is 100 degrees nearly every day. Welcome to Texas!

Blaze and Diamond are thrilled. Doggie Zen Den has opened their waterpark up for summer fun! When people ask why I drive so far to take them to doggie day care, I tell them because their favorite (and only) day care has a WATERPARK! Yes, and they have THE most wonderful staff a dog could ever hope for!

Blaze plays with the big dogs, as you can see from the photos. Diamond is with the little dogs (no photos from there today!).

Record setting snow in Dallas!

Wow! Yesterday, we set historic records in the Dallas area for the most snowfall in a single day! At our home, we saw between 10-12". For Diamond and Blaze, it was Heaven on Earth! Both love to play snowplow with their noses. Diamond plows, then tosses the snow up into the air and eats it. Blaze bulldozes until he can't breathe...and then he looks surprised. For 2 Corgis, this much snow means hopping rather than walking. It also means running and rolling and having great Corgi fun! It sort of makes walks worthwhile for us humans!

Three tired dogs

Thad and I went to his sister's ranch in East Texas for the weekend. Diamond and Blaze spent the weekend at Doggie Zen Den...their first time boarding. Once we all got home and settled in for the Super Bowl, I look over to see my three tired dogs lined up on the sofa! LOL! ...and I love all three of them!

There's one in every crowd...

You know the one...the kid who takes all of the toys and just will not share. In our home, it's Diamond. Lucky for her, Blaze really doesn't care (and we've got a secret stash of toys for just the time when this happens! LOL!).

This little girl has 4 (count them...4) toys tucked up next to her. And she put them there all by her little self. Sigh...
